(Gen 20:7 NKJV) "Now therefore, restore the man's wife; for he is a prophet, and he will pray for you and you shall live. But if you do not restore her, know that you shall surely die, you and all who are yours." (Num 11:1 NKJV) Now when the people complained, it displeased the LORD; for the LORD heard it, and His anger was aroused. So the fire of the LORD burned among them, and consumed some in the outskirts of the camp. (Num 11:2 NKJV) Then the people cried out to Moses, and when Moses prayed to the LORD, the fire was quenched. (Num 21:4 NKJV) Then they journeyed from Mount Hor by the Way of the Red Sea, to go around the land of Edom; and the soul of the people became very discouraged on the way. (Num 21:5 NKJV) And the people spoke against God and against Moses: "Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and our soul loathes this worthless bread." (Num 21:6 NKJV) So the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and many of the people of Israel died. (Num 21:7 NKJV) Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, "We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD and against you; pray to the LORD that He take away the serpents from us." So Moses prayed for the people. (Num 21:8 NKJV) Then the LORD said to Moses, "Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live." (Num 21:9 NKJV) So Moses made a bronze serpent, and put it on a pole; and so it was, if a serpent had bitten anyone, when he looked at the bronze serpent, he lived. (1 Sam 1:12 NKJV) And it happened, as she continued praying before the LORD, that Eli watched her mouth. (1 Sam 1:13 NKJV) Now Hannah spoke in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard. Therefore Eli thought she was drunk. (1 Sam 1:27 NKJV) "For this child I prayed, and the LORD has granted me my petition which I asked of Him. (2 Sam 24:25 NKJV) And David built there an altar to the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the LORD heeded the prayers for the land, and the plague was withdrawn from Israel. (1 Ki 13:6 NKJV) Then the king answered and said to the man of God, "Please entreat the favor of the LORD your God, and pray for me, that my hand may be restored to me." So the man of God entreated the LORD, and the king's hand was restored to him, and became as before. (2 Ki 20:1 NKJV) In those days Hezekiah was sick and near death. And Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, went to him and said to him, "Thus says the LORD: 'Set your house in order, for you shall die, and not live.'" (2 Ki 20:2 NKJV) Then he turned his face toward the wall, and prayed to the LORD, saying, (2 Ki 20:3 NKJV) "Remember now, O LORD, I pray, how I have walked before You in truth and with a loyal heart, and have done what was good in Your sight." And Hezekiah wept bitterly. (2 Ki 20:4 NKJV) And it happened, before Isaiah had gone out into the middle court, that the word of the LORD came to him, saying, (2 Ki 20:5 NKJV) "Return and tell Hezekiah the leader of My people, 'Thus says the LORD, the God of David your father: "I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will heal you. On the third day you shall go up to the house of the LORD. (2 Ki 20:6 NKJV) "And I will add to your days fifteen years. I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for My own sake, and for the sake of My servant David."' " (1 Chr 5:19 NKJV) They made war with the Hagrites, Jetur, Naphish, and Nodab. (1 Chr 5:20 NKJV) And they were helped against them, and the Hagrites were delivered into their hand, and all who were with them, for they cried out to God in the battle. He heeded their prayer, because they put their trust in Him. (Ezra 6:10 NKJV) that they may offer sacrifices of sweet aroma to the God of heaven, and pray for the life of the king and his sons. (Job 1:4 NKJV) And his sons would go and feast in their houses, each on his appointed day, and would send and invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them. (Job 1:5 NKJV) So it was, when the days of feasting had run their course, that Job would send and sanctify them, and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, "It may be that my sons have sinned and cursed God in their hearts." Thus Job did regularly. (Job 42:8 NKJV) "Now therefore, take for yourselves seven bulls and seven rams, go to My servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and My servant Job shall pray for you. For I will accept him, lest I deal with you according to your folly; because you have not spoken of Me what is right, as My servant Job has." (Psa 122:6 NKJV) Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: "May they prosper who love you. (Prov 15:29 NKJV) The LORD is far from the wicked, But He hears the prayer of the righteous. (Jer 7:16 NKJV) "Therefore do not pray for this people, nor lift up a cry or prayer for them, nor make intercession to Me; for I will not hear you. (Jer 11:14 NKJV) "So do not pray for this people, or lift up a cry or prayer for them; for I will not hear them in the time that they cry out to Me because of their trouble. (Jer 14:11 NKJV) Then the LORD said to me, "Do not pray for this people, for their good. (Jer 42:2 NKJV) and said to Jeremiah the prophet, "Please, let our petition be acceptable to you, and pray for us to the LORD your God, for all this remnant (since we are left but a few of many, as you can see), (Jer 42:20 NKJV) "For you were hypocrites in your hearts when you sent me to the LORD your God, saying, 'Pray for us to the LORD our God, and according to all that the LORD your God says, so declare to us and we will do it.' (Dan 6:10 NKJV) Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days. (Dan 6:11 NKJV) Then these men assembled and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God. (Dan 9:3 NKJV) Then I set my face toward the Lord God to make request by prayer and supplications, with fasting, sackcloth, and ashes. (Dan 9:4 NKJV) And I prayed to the LORD my God, and made confession, and said, "O Lord, great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant and mercy with those who love Him, and with those who keep His commandments, (Dan 9:5 NKJV) "we have sinned and committed iniquity, we have done wickedly and rebelled, even by departing from Your precepts and Your judgments. (Dan 9:6 NKJV) "Neither have we heeded Your servants the prophets, who spoke in Your name to our kings and our princes, to our fathers and all the people of the land. (Dan 9:7 NKJV) "O Lord, righteousness belongs to You, but to us shame of face, as it is this day; to the men of Judah, to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and all Israel, those near and those far off in all the countries to which You have driven them, because of the unfaithfulness which they have committed against You. (Dan 9:8 NKJV) "O Lord, to us belongs shame of face, to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, because we have sinned against You. (Dan 9:9 NKJV) "To the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness, though we have rebelled against Him. (Dan 9:10 NKJV) "We have not obeyed the voice of the LORD our God, to walk in His laws, which He set before us by His servants the prophets. (Dan 9:11 NKJV) "Yes, all Israel has transgressed Your law, and has departed so as not to obey Your voice; therefore the curse and the oath written in the Law of Moses the servant of God have been poured out on us, because we have sinned against Him. (Dan 9:12 NKJV) "And He has confirmed His words, which He spoke against us and against our judges who judged us, by bringing upon us a great disaster; for under the whole heaven such has never been done as what has been done to Jerusalem. (Dan 9:13 NKJV) "As it is written in the Law of Moses, all this disaster has come upon us; yet we have not made our prayer before the LORD our God, that we might turn from our iniquities and understand Your truth. (Dan 9:14 NKJV) "Therefore the LORD has kept the disaster in mind, and brought it upon us; for the LORD our God is righteous in all the works which He does, though we have not obeyed His voice. (Dan 9:15 NKJV) "And now, O Lord our God, who brought Your people out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and made Yourself a name, as it is this day; we have sinned, we have done wickedly! (Dan 9:16 NKJV) "O Lord, according to all Your righteousness, I pray, let Your anger and Your fury be turned away from Your city Jerusalem, Your holy mountain; because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and Your people are a reproach to all those around us. (Dan 9:17 NKJV) "Now therefore, our God, hear the prayer of Your servant, and his supplications, and for the Lord's sake cause Your face to shine on Your sanctuary, which is desolate. (Dan 9:18 NKJV) "O my God, incline Your ear and hear; open Your eyes and see our desolations, and the city which is called by Your name; for we do not present our supplications before You because of our righteous deeds, but because of Your great mercies. (Dan 9:19 NKJV) "O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, listen and act! Do not delay for Your own sake, my God, for Your city and Your people are called by Your name." (Dan 9:20 NKJV) Now while I was speaking, praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God for the holy mountain of my God, (Dan 9:21 NKJV) yes, while I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, reached me about the time of the evening offering. (Dan 9:22 NKJV) And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, "O Daniel, I have now come forth to give you skill to understand. (Dan 9:23 NKJV) "At the beginning of your supplications the command went out, and I have come to tell you, for you are greatly beloved; therefore consider the matter, and understand the vision: (Jonah 1:17 NKJV) Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights. (Jonah 2:1 NKJV) Then Jonah prayed to the LORD his God from the fish's belly. (Jonah 2:2 NKJV) And he said: "I cried out to the LORD because of my affliction, And He answered me. "Out of the belly of Sheol I cried, And You heard my voice. (Mat 5:44 NKJV) "But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, (Mat 6:5 NKJV) "And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. (Mat 6:6 NKJV) "But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. (Mat 6:7 NKJV) "And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. (Mat 6:8 NKJV) "Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. (Mat 6:9 NKJV) "In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. (Mat 6:10 NKJV) Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. (Mat 6:11 NKJV) Give us this day our daily bread. (Mat 6:12 NKJV) And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. (Mat 6:13 NKJV) And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. (Mark 6:46 NKJV) And when He had sent them away, He departed to the mountain to pray. (Mark 13:33 NKJV) "Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is. (Luke 6:12 NKJV) Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. (Luke 6:28 NKJV) "bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you. (Luke 11:2 NKJV) So He said to them, "When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. (Luke 18:10 NKJV) "Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. (Luke 18:11 NKJV) "The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, 'God, I thank You that I am not like other men; extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. (Luke 18:12 NKJV) 'I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.' (Luke 18:13 NKJV) "And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me a sinner!' (Luke 18:14 NKJV) "I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted." (Luke 22:40 NKJV) When He came to the place, He said to them, "Pray that you may not enter into temptation." (John 17:1 NKJV) Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: "Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, (John 17:2 NKJV) "as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. (John 17:3 NKJV) "And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. (John 17:4 NKJV) "I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do. (John 17:5 NKJV) "And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was. (John 17:6 NKJV) "I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word. (John 17:7 NKJV) "Now they have known that all things which You have given Me are from You. (John 17:8 NKJV) "For I have given to them the words which You have given Me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came forth from You; and they have believed that You sent Me. (John 17:9 NKJV) "I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours. (John 17:10 NKJV) "And all Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine, and I am glorified in them. (John 17:11 NKJV) "Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are. (John 17:12 NKJV) "While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. (John 17:13 NKJV) "But now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves. (John 17:14 NKJV) "I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. (John 17:15 NKJV) "I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. (John 17:16 NKJV) "They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. (John 17:17 NKJV) "Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. (John 17:18 NKJV) "As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. (John 17:19 NKJV) "And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth. (John 17:20 NKJV) "I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; (John 17:21 NKJV) "that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. (John 17:22 NKJV) "And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: (John 17:23 NKJV) "I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me. (John 17:24 NKJV) "Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. (John 17:25 NKJV) "O righteous Father! The world has not known You, but I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me. (John 17:26 NKJV) "And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them." (Rom 8:26 NKJV) Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. (Eph 5:20 NKJV) giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, (Eph 6:18 NKJV) praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perserverence and supplication for all the saints-- (Eph 6:19 NKJV) and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, (Phil 4:6 NKJV) Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and suppli- cation, with thanksgiving, let your requests be known to God; (Phil 4:7 NKJV) and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Col 1:9 NKJV) For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; (Col 3:17 NKJV) And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. (1 Th 5:17 NKJV) pray without ceasing, (1 Th 5:18 NKJV) in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. (1 Th 5:25 NKJV) Brethren, pray for us. (2 Th 3:1 NKJV) Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you, (Heb 13:18 NKJV) Pray for us; for we are confident that we have a good conscience, in all things desiring to live honorably. (James 5:13 NKJV) Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. (James 5:14 NKJV) Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. (James 5:15 NKJV) And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. (James 5:16 NKJV) Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. (James 5:17 NKJV) Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. (James 5:18 NKJV) And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.
